Orchestras

Youth Symphony of DuPage is comprised of more than 100 talented young musicians representing over thirty different communities within DuPage county and the surrounding Chicago land area. The Youth Symphony of DuPage is unique among many youth orchestras by offering diverse repertoire that is both challenging and rewarding to young musicians and their audience.

YSDP offers three orchestra opportunities for our talented musicians.

Sinfonietta Strings

Rehearsals:  Monday, 5:15 – 6:15pm

YSDP is proud to announce our 3rd orchestral ensemble “Sinfonietta Strings” beginning in the fall of 2018.

Sinfonietta Strings is for younger string musicians with playing experience on their instrument and private teacher recommendation. The goal is to provides advanced training and ensemble experience for those playing with proficiency for advanced orchestral performance.

Concert Orchestra

Rehearses: Mondays, 6:20 – 7:20pm

Concert Orchestra members are primarily advanced middle school and high school age musicians. Their repertoire is drawn from the standard classical literature and include works such as Mozat’s March Militaire Francaise, Shostakovic’s Waltz No. 2, Vivaldi’s “Spring” from The Four Seasons and Saint-Saens’ Bacchanale from Samson and Delilah.

Symphony Orchestra

Rehearses: Mondays, 7:30 – 9:30pm

Symphony Orchestra members are advanced middle school and high school age musicians who study more advanced classical repertoire including Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 4 in A Major “The Italian”, Glinka’s Russian and Ludmilla, Beethoven’s Romance in F, and Tchaikovsky’s “Finale from Symphony No. 4.
