Annual Solo Contest
Concerto Competition 2010
The audition dates are as follows:
- February 20, 2010 for the Winds, Brass and Percussion (morning)
- February 21, 2010 for the Strings (afternoon)

Forms must be returned no later than Monday, January 11, 2010. Please staple to your form a $25 audition fee. No form will be accepted without payment.
Important information for YSDP Concerto Competition
- Music must be memorized.
- Auditions will be fifteen minutes in length. Students will be critiqued on performance by adjudicators.
- Symphony Orchestra pieces must have accessible orchestral accompaniment.
Mr. Tham can answer questions on this if there is doubt.
- All performers must have piano accompanists on the audition date.
- Professional dress is required on audition dates.
- Preparatory winners must wait one year before auditioning for Symphony competition.
- Once a performer has won or soloed at the Symphony level, that player cannot compete again at this competition.
- Preparatory Orchestra winner will play on the May 22nd, Concert with their accompanist.
- Symphony Orchestra winner will perform with the Symphony Orchestra on the May 22nd Concert.
- There will be a Wind and a String winner for the Symphony Orchestra.
- Adjudicators will pick the winners on the audition date.
- Mr. Tham has final say as to who will perform with the orchestra dependent on repertoire, music accessibility, difficulty for the orchestra, etc.
- Forms need to be typed or printed neatly.
